IDD Program Specialist

Salary S50,793

Schedule M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

The IDD Program Specialist is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the IDD Services Division’s training needs, and for developing and implementing the Utilization Management plan related to Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.  This includes responsibility for: (a) developing division level training curriculum and conducting trainings for new/existing employees, as well as, other disability-related trainings (e.g. DD Waiver, Person-Centered Planning, IDD Orientation, VIDES, etc.) necessary for staff development; (b) supervision of treatment teams in the implementation of quality assurance standards; (c) developing program-specific trainings as needed per approval by the Clinical Services Administrator of that program; (d) overall supervision and oversight of utilization reviews within the Division; (e) development and overview of a comprehensive quality management plan for the Division that will ensure each individual served is receiving the highest quality of care; (f) coordinating In-Service and/or disability-related trainings that may be conducted by individuals from external agencies or programs; (g) participating in and/or facilitating meetings, groups, and/or committees which will assist in identifying on-going training needs and improve compliance issues within the Division; (h) developing, consulting, and/or revising policy and procedures, as required, which relate to training and/or compliance; and (i) monitors treatment regimens of cases; presents review data; makes recommendations regarding appropriateness, necessity and continuation of treatment; conducts complex studies of patterns and outcomes of care for use in establishing criteria related to optimal services.  Ensure that licensure and Medicaid standards are met for DD directly operated and contracted programs.  Responsible for reviewing the clinical appropriateness of treatment, including interventions, treatment plans, and length of stays and/or alternative services.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and three (3) years clinical experience providing, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management functions.
