Description

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for the clinical leadership within Hancock Counseling, including management of individual therapists, reviewing treatment plans and notes, clinician performance and development, crisis management, risk assessment, and supporting all clinical services provided by psychological testing, counseling team, and psychiatry team.
  • Ensure that clinicians are meeting and achieving their production goals for weekly patient expectations.
  • Review and develop policy and procedures guidelines for clinical and operational aspects of practice.
  • Oversees the Triage Coordination and review approval or denials of referrals.
  • Oversees billing and billing metrics as needed.
  • When needed, serve as a primary supervisor for pre-licensed therapists and interns, signing off on all clinical observations and supervisory notes.
  • Facilitate individual Rounding, group staffing including IDT staffing, and Department Meetings.
  • Provide orientation and training for all new hires.
  • Work closely with the Behavioral Health Service Line Management Team to develop and implement improvement initiatives and change as needed to enhance the quality of care and services.
  • Provide Executive Director reports and updates including but not limited to data, caseload size, patient care, and staff information.
  • Provide direct patient care as available including a caseload for Therapy.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Executive Director in the management of day-to-day activities of associates including reviewing and approving payroll.
  • Aids in the organization’s goal of retaining quality associates by assisting with hiring, orientation, training, evaluation, and corrective action policies/procedures.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of resources within the Hospital and community.
  • Understands the value of an active network consisting of Hancock Health, faith congregations, direct-service, non-profit organizations, and government leaders.
  • Implements policy and procedures, goals and objectives, and standards of care relevant to patient services and associates’ functions.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety, trauma-informed care, and quality.
  • Represent Hancock Counseling in applicable community events and meetings.
  • Complete additional projects as needed and assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in treatment of mental health needs, including substance use disorder. Experience working with mental health, psychiatry teams, and leadership in a clinical practice is preferred.

Required Education/Credentials:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling, Marriage, and Family Therapy.
  • Hold at least one of the following licenses: LCSW, LCAC, LMHC, LMFT, or PsyD.
