Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a Health Information Technician for our Information Technology (IT) team in Rancho Cordova, CA. GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Director of Health Information Management (HIM), this position is responsible for the managing health information, working with and providing support for NextGen and other systems used to manage and store client data.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is an at-will administrative position within the Home Office. The position is responsible for assisting Turning Point’s Health Information department with ensuring the privacy of our members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

  • Applies clinical knowledge and participates in the design, development, implementation, validation, and maintenance of EHR and other systems.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining user documentation.
  • Provide user support and training.
  • Assist with coordinating requests of programs for system modifications and enhancements.
  • Maintain a knowledge base to document specific training needs and concerns related to the application
  • Enters data either manually or using scanning technology necessary or required by protocol.
  • Assist in collecting necessary data to develop graphs, reports and presentations of results, trending and data mining
  • In collaboration with others, provides necessary data for analysis, interpretation and development of recommendations based on findings.
  • Develops and generates routine and/or ad-hoc reporting
  • Completes tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Provides support to other staff members as needed.
  • Adheres to and upholds the policies and procedures of Turning Point Community Programs.
  • Attends all team and agency staff meetings unless approval for non-attendance is secured by the CFO. CEO, COO.
  • Meets the standards set for performance in all aspects of job duties.
  • Meets the standard for consistent attendance (not more than a 5% absence rate per month) by reporting to every scheduled shift on time and ready to work and by the judicious use of paid sick leave and avoiding any situations resulting in the need to dock pay for time not worked.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Compensation: $ 26.00 - 26.52 per hour

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Education, Training and Experience:

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is through graduation from an accredited university or college with a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology or a related field or one (1) to two (2) years of relatable experience.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • California driver’s license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and,
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles.
