POSITION TITLE: Help Desk Analyst
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Information Technology
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-Time Regular, 2- 6 hours days
EFFECTIVE DATE: September 2023
COMPENSATION: $25.00-30.00/hour

Position Summary:

The Help Desk Analyst, in consultation with the Director of Information Technology and the IT Department, has the primary responsibility for the maintenance and support of all technology equipment at SHCP. The main purpose of this position is to provide helpdesk service and support for the entire Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep Community. This includes but not limited to faculty, staff, students as well as individuals that may visit onsite. This position serves as the first and main point of contact with the IT Department for most end users and for most requests. The individual is responsible for responding to end user support inquiries as well as taking on individual projects. This position is an essential operational position and is located on campus. Remote work is not available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Invest in the mission of SHC and the charisms of the Daughters of Charity and De La Salle Christian Brothers through active mission and Catholic formation

  • Troubleshoot desktop/laptop computers on Windows and Mac platforms

  • Troubleshoot campus printers

  • Maintain and support classroom audio­ video systems

  • Support the philosophy and policy of a ‘Bring Your Own Device' model for operations, teaching and student learning

  • Respond to end ­users in a timely fashion in order to provide Level 1 (and some Level 2) technical support for all A/V, computer hardware and applications software. Share solutions for the benefit of other department members and end-users.

  • Works with the Business Systems Specialist to maintain accurate and up­-to­-date inventory of all technology assets, including desktop/laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, LCD projectors, peripherals, and telephones

  • Regularly creates and updates end-­user documentation. Shares this documentation in a range of platforms with the ultimate goal of building capacity in our end­-user community

  • Effectively use vendor support and other tools to diagnose and repair end-user's computer in a timely matter

  • Provides primary technical and audio-visual support to the entire school community on school wide events (Masses, Rallies, Prayer Services, Reconciliation, Gala etc.)

  • Ensure security of technology assets as they are deployed in classrooms, offices and other campus locations

  • Serve on committees as requested by school administration.

  • Keep abreast of educational technology trends to help ensure full utilization of campus technologies which includes but not limited to open source technologies.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of our laptop imaging

  • Participate in Community wide events

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology which may include some weekend and evening hours

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft and MAC OS platforms, Microsoft 0365, Google G Suite/Workspace, Zoom, Printer Hardware, basic networking and Wifi.
