From our Headquarters Office in Colorado, we facilitate the work of missions and assist churches with their worldwide vision. We serve a community of more than 500 missionaries working in more than 60 countries around the globe. All jobs listed are located in Englewood, CO unless otherwise specified.

Description

Salary Range:  $77,000 to $82,000/year

Position Summary: The Director of Mobilization and Mentoring is primarily tasked with creating, stewarding, and leading the processes of recruiting and mentoring individuals into service with WorldVenture. The Director of Mobilization and Mentoring will lead a high functioning team of staff members to make sure that WorldVenture opportunities are known, well-promoted, and that appointees are mentored, equipped, and trained for missionary service with WorldVenture. The Director of Mobilization and Mentoring will report to the Vice President of Partner Ministries and serve on the Partner Ministries Leadership Team.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mobilizing team to implement a relational cultivation strategy with prospective missionaries.
  • Lead the mentoring team as they coach, mentor, and encourage WorldVenture appointees.
  • Coordinate along with Vice President of Partner Ministries and the Director of Development to direct the Church Relations team so that they are dually focused on cultivating willing hearts to serve and generous hearts to give.
  • Ensure that the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective recruiting and mobilization strategies for North America are adopted and followed.
  • In partnership with the Global Director Team, ensure proper placement of individuals and teams so current ministry needs are addressed, and a more effective missionary force is deployed.
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate new and existing partner relationships with a focus on long-term missionary service with WorldVenture by providing spiritual mentorship, discipleship, missions coaching throughout the candidacy process, ensuring proper fit, readiness, and placement.
  • Adopt, implement, and lead best-practice coaching and mentoring techniques for missionary appointees.
  • In coordination with others at WorldVenture, plan and execute special events to engage recruits, appointees, churches, and interested parties to learn more about WorldVenture.
  • Complete periodic reports as required by management that accurately reflect activity and performance for the Mobilizing and Mentoring Team.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the VP of Partner Ministries.
 
Position Requirements

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep appreciation and understanding of WorldVenture's mission and vision.
  • Ability to articulate the transformative Gospel Impact that happens because of those who willingly and sacrificially serve with WorldVenture.
  • Engaging and excellent communicator orally in both public and private settings, as well as in written proposals/materials.
  • Proven leadership and team development with evidence of successfully leading a team towards accomplishing goals.
  • Extreme discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

 

Personal Qualifications:

  • Proven commitment to a personal relationship with God and a desire to serve Him in global ministry.
  • Christian character that reflects our values as an organization and dedication to WorldVenture’s ministry.
  • Affirmation of the doctrinal statement, sexual conduct policy, and child safety policy.
  • Demonstrated warmth, empathy, and trustworthiness in relationships.
  • Respect for those from nations and cultures other than their own.
  • Service-oriented attitude toward others.
  • Team player displaying humility and a learner’s attitude.

 

Education and Formal Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five+ years of experience in missions at an international agency or church with visible evidence of mobilizing others into mission service.
  • Previous overseas and/or multicultural ministry experiences preferred.

 

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
