POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Annual and Affinity Giving is responsible for increasing annual philanthropic support for the annual funds of Moravian University and Moravian and Lancaster Theological Seminaries. This position will support major annual giving initiatives (direct mail appeals, email appeals, specialized giving campaigns) and will focus on affinity giving, consistent giving, recurring giving, and milestone reunion giving while building relationships across campus and with alumni.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the development and implementation of data-driven annual giving strategies that will meet or exceed established goals for unrestricted and restricted annual gifts and alumni participation.
- Develop and implement strategies for retention and growth of affinity group donors, the Main Street Society (consistent giving), and recurring giving donors. This will include the development and oversight of high-performing, high-engagement peer solicitor networks in each area.
- Identify, recruit, train, and manage volunteers for milestone reunion years (e.g., 10th, 25th, and 50th reunion classes) for the purpose of enhancing affinity, increasing engagement, and reaching participation and dollar goals.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of 50 assigned annual giving prospects while identifying those who have the potential to move into the annual leadership or major gift pipeline.
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Annual and Leadership Giving.
Bachelor's degree required. Must have the ability to recruit, motivate and train volunteers as well as work independently with minimal supervision. The position demands strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written skills, and a desire and ability to work with and through others to achieve agreed upon goals. Requires a team player who can multitask and work under firm deadlines. Computer literacy including internet competency as well as experience with Microsoft Office and Google applications, particularly database applications, word processing and spreadsheets, is essential. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.
