Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Clinical Dietitian / Nutritionist (660)  Category Hancock Wellness - New Pal - 8830   Description JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for nutritional programming to members, guests, and clinical patients. The registered dietitian will be involved with clients presenting with, but not limited to, pre-diabetes/diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. The registered dietitian will also be responsible for providing nutrition education and health coaching for general/preventative nutrition, sports performance, pre/post-natal nutrition, weight loss/gain. Outside of nutrition sessions, the registered dietitian will have the opportunity to engage with the community on various forms of nutrition programming. Experience is preferred in these areas, but not required. Position will be weekdays with flexible hours. Good communication skills and teamwork are required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides education to clients based on their needs and wellness goals Provides community education and has an active role in Quality Improvement Processes within the wellness center and collaborating health system departments. Relates to staff and various persons of all ages as served by the departments. Demonstrates courtesy, effectiveness, and discretion in dealing with team members, hospital and wellness center associates, patients, and the public. Maintains required level of continuing education for related professional licensure. and certification. Exemplifies the mission statement of the hospital and is courteous, friendly and willing to assist others. Positive professional appearance and attitude per department policy. Models company values. Adapt to change and expands individual impact through the use of continuing education opportunities. Assesses patient needs and provides diabetes education to patients. Collaborates with Medical Director, Program Coordinator, and other instructors to continue development and enhance delivery of nutrition services. EXPECTED BEHAVIORS: Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, coordinate and prioritize job functions and complete them in a timely manner. Exhibit tact in working with people. Ability to present clinical information in a manner understandable to patients. Promotes attendance at classes, utilizes course curriculum, listens and responds to patient needs, questions and concerns. Promotes attendance of sessions, listens and responds to patient needs, questions and concerns. Completes patient scheduling, registration, and charge entry accurately. Ensures all appropriate documentation occurs in a thorough and timely manner. Offers encouragement and accountability to members and guests to achieve their wellness goals. Communicate clearly using both written and oral instruction in English. Is AIDET w/ Promise trained.   Position Requirements MANDATORY LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: BS degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or related field. Registered with Commission of Dietetic Registration Licensure in the State of Indiana recommended. Registered Dietitian (RD) and completion of 75 hours of continuing education in each 5-year certificate period. Certification as Diabetes Educator (CDE) highly encouraged. ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Internship or similar approved program. Mandatory Annual Education. Experience and comfort in speaking before small and large groups required.
