JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for administrative processes, special projects and for providing general administrative support on-site to the HR team with the primary functions within the HR department. This position often requires the use of independent judgment and initiative to plan and execute functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares reports, memos, letters and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software
Creates and maintains HR files
Assigns and deactivates gas pins for employees driving agency vehicles
Notification and updating of driver’s licenses and abstracts, and running annual checks
Assists with personnel audits and follow ups on missing documentation and filing
Handles confidential information
Assists with benefits enrollment as needed, general reports, and HR inquiries, data entry, HRIS information look-ups, and special projects as assigned
Processes unemployment claims and hearings and provides wage verification
Assists with labor law posters’ distribution
Proofreads documents as needed
Processes life insurance enrollments and terminations and file accordingly
Assists with ordering service awards and dept. supplies / furniture as requested
Assists with meeting minutes as needed
Acts as a front desk relief staff
Provides recruitment support – reference checking, credentialing, job postings, resume screening, etc.
Other related duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES: Assists with departmental projects as needed (Benefits Fair, Employee Recognition events, mass mailings, audits, filing, career fair, dept. events, internal cross-training, admin. coverage during staff’s vacation, etc.) Collaborate with HR team regularly on assignments and tasks as assigned.
