Join our team as a Mental Health Rehab Worker at Hiawatha Hall, FCC’s Intensive Residential Treatment Services Facility. 

 

Part-time positions available!

 

As a Mental Health Rehab Worker, you will provide support to adults with severe and persistent mental health concerns in an Intensive Residential Treatment (IRTS) facility.  You will support the clients by assisting them in learning independent living skills, helping them achieve their treatment plan goals, teaching them effective coping strategies, and assisting with community integration activities. Additional tasks include light meal preparation, hourly checks, facilitating skills group, crisis intervention and de-escalation and medication administration. 

 
Position Requirements

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

Have a high school diploma or equivalent; AND

Meet one of the  following qualification requirements:
(1) be fluent in the non-English language or competent in the culture of the ethnic group to which at least 20 percent of the mental health rehabilitation worker's clients belong;
(2) have an associate of arts degree;
(3) have two years of full-time postsecondary education or a total of 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields;
(4) be a registered nurse;

(5)have, within the previous ten years, three years of personal life experience with mental illness;
(6) have, within the previous ten years, three years of life experience as a primary caregiver to an adult with a mental illness, traumatic brain injury, substance use disorder, or developmental disability; OR
(7) have, within the previous ten years, 2,000 hours of work experience providing health and human services to individuals.
