Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Kitchen Supervisor  Description The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority has a full-time position available for a Kitchen Supervisor at the RBHA North Campus to perform intermediate semiskilled work cooking and serving meals and maintaining the kitchen; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Limited supervision is exercised over all kitchen personnel. Essential Functions Supervising and participating in the preparation and serving meals; cleaning utensils and kitchen; ordering food. (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.) Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of meals and the cleaning and washing of kitchen equipment and utensils; orders food according to need. Receives food shipment and stores in freezer or stock room. Prepares meals according to the menu. Performs all duties of Cook I. Makes periodic inspections of kitchen and dining area to observe quality of food service activities and the cleanliness and sanitation of serving areas and equipment and utensils. Gathers recipes and solicits client preferences for menu items by food group and state standards and forwards for approval. Performs related tasks as required.     Position Requirements Thorough knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing meats, breads and other foods on a large scale and of the use and care of utensils and equipment; thorough knowledge of food values and nutrition; skill in cutting and carving meat; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to supervise the work of subordinate employees and volunteers. Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in cooking foods in large quantities.
