Technical Trainer 

Description

Position Summary:

 

Creates, plans, conducts and tracks training for electricians, of varying experience levels, to develop electrical knowledge.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, create and deliver training programs to develop the necessary basic mechanical skills for each entry level tradesperson to reach competency in all common tasks in site and slab underground, above ground rough including NM & MC Cable and ½” & ¾” EMT installations, branch wire installation, common light fixture installation and make up and installation of common devices.
  • Training in the above competencies will include basic material and equipment identification and the use of commonly used hand and power tools to accomplish the tasks listed.
  • Training in the above competencies will include construction safety & health and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and facilitate skilled trades employees’ progress from entry level through Superintendent
  • Promote skilled trades employees continuing education by educating them on IEC programs and encouraging them to complete and continue through each module.
  • Maintain data metrics on skilled trade employee development as necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
  • Coach individuals on their skilled trade career goals and progress.
  • Assists in conducting new employee orientations
  • Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and goals to Company personnel
  • Performs additional assignments as directed by executive leadership
 
Position Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word software.
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross section of individuals
  • Commitment to company values

 

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid state Journeyworker’s license is preferred.
