Our Kansas City branch is currently looking for a bright, self-driven individual to lead our Accounts Receivable department. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for the collection of payments from customers on behalf of the company. They supervise the receivables team and will be accountable for the timely and accurate invoicing of customers and the handling of overdue payments according to the company’s policies. If you have previous experience leading an AR team to successfully achieve day-to-day results, we’d like to meet you!

Position Accounts Receivable Manager  
Position Requirements

Essential duties of this position are:

  • Support the Accounts Receivable Team on a daily basis and train new team members
  • Ensure timely collection of payments
  • Negotiate with clients in non-payment cases
  • Ensure the proper application of sales tax
  • Understand Cogent’s revenue recognition guidelines and help team members apply them
  • Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with customers both internal and external
  • Prioritize tasks based on customer needs both internal and external
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by posting monthly account transactions and reconciling assigned accounts
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

Qualified candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities such as:

  • Proven work experience in leading an Accounts Receivable Team
  • Ability to perform tasks with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Time and process management, including the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous deadlines, set priorities, and work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and phone etiquette skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
