All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description Position Summary Under the direction of the Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Trainee’s main task is to: Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Be ready and willing to receive standard training Must work in his/her designated area under direct Supervision of an A, B, or C Operator at all times Learn basic product identification Perform plant cleanup standards tasks during and at the end of an operation or workday Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors. Knowledge and Skills: High School Graduate or GED desired but not required. Work Experience: No experience required Skills and Competencies: Have general knowledge of plant safety rules Must be able to read and interpret an MSDS, also know the location of the MSDS book Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200-500 pounds. Able to perform duties under all types of weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
