Job Summary The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a software engineering fellow with a passion for data engineering and machine learning to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a foundation in Python and SQL, as well as a keen interest in data engineering and a strong desire to further develop their skills in the realm of machine learning. Responsibilities: Develop data pipelines to extract data from vendor APIs and integrate it into our internal data warehouse. Build and deploy machine learning models to transform data from various sources into unified data tables. Implement integrity checks to monitor the health and performance of the data platform. Work closely with analysts and baseball stakeholders to support their data needs.   Position Requirements Required: Authorized to work lawfully in the United States. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Foundational knowledge in Python and SQL. Hands-on experience in building machine learning models. Experience in programming and object-oriented design. Commitment to adhering to coding practices and following team guidelines. Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Passion for data engineering, machine learning, and the sports industry. Desired: Familiarity with Linux operating system.
