They will also be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supervising children, and maintaining a clean and orderly childcare area. The childcare specialist should enjoy being around children and feel comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities. Ideal candidates must be able to manage individuals as well as bigger groups of children. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well with others.   Position Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing a safe, nurturing, yet fun environment for children. Supervise children during playtimes Modeling good character and hygiene habits and encouraging children to follow them. Help children learn and develop through play and exploration. Encourage positive social interaction among children. To support parents in their role as primary care givers of their children. Demonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."   ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or another related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of knowledge and experience working with children. Experience working with military families or veteran population is preferred. Knowledge of psychological and emotional development in children preferred. Experience working with young children is preferable. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred. ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion. LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record. A qualification in early childhood education or similar may be advantageous. Must have CPR and First Aid certifications. VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice. OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs.
