Description

Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities areas leading provider of early childhood care and education and now includes the Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships program. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for.

As an Early Head Start Teacher on our team, you will create a quality learning environment that actively engages children to both learn and play and support families. You will play a role in enhancing the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth of children. This means youll do things like:

  • Implement lesson plans;
  • Assess the developmental needs of children to build their knowledge and skills;
  • Develop positive working relationships with families; and,
  • Participate in personal development to grow your own knowledge, skills and abilities as an early childhood educator.

Salary, benefits and perks

Due to current funding from the Illinois Apprenticeship Pilot Project dependent on education and Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Credential attainment hourly pay for this position ranges from $17.25-$22.75. Additional details regarding this project will be discussed upon interview.

Requirements

Early Head Start Teachers must obtain background clearances, be able to travel or have reliable transportation, be able to complete physical tasks such as sit, stand, stoop, lift and carry up to 45 pounds, and view children, havea Child Development Associate credential (CDA) or ECE degree, and at least one year of experience. Additional detail will be provided prior to an interview. Requests for reasonable accommodation as required under applicable law will be considered.

**Positions are open in Moline, Milan, and Rock Island. Candidates may be placed in 1 of the 3 locations.**

SALCS operates Skip-a-Long Child Development Services - early care and education centers in Iowa and Illinois, The Home Child Care Network - a network of licensed and license-exempt home child care providers in both the Quad Cities and Peoria areas, Open Door - a crisis assistance program funded by IDHS to help individuals and families in crisis navigate local social services, SAL Child Care Connection - the child care resource and referral program in Peoria, IL, the Child Care Resource and Referral of Midwestern Illinois that serves the Illinois Quad Cities and surrounding counties, and Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships that serve Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer Counties in Illinois.
