Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
The Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) is licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for Crisis Stabilization Services, providing a 24 hour residential alternative to acute psychiatric hospitalization.
The Psychiatric Technician, Crisis Stabilization is responsible for providing direct care and supervision of individuals who are seriously mentally ill and/or co-occurring substance use disorder in an intensive short-term residential crisis stabilization program; in conjunction with assisting the interdisciplinary team in providing direct service treatment and case coordination. Monitors and documents client progress.

Requirements:
One (1) year direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness . CNA preferred.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
