Description

Must possess exemplary work ethics. Prefer a minimum of 6 months of prior supervisory experience and 2 years as a food server in a full-service restaurant preferred. Knowledge of dining room, proper food sanitation and safety. Must be able to read, write, and speak English to understand and be understood by residents, staff, and families. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to move about the community quickly and be able to physically assist residents and/or staff in event of an emergency. High school diploma or equivalent. Must successfully acquire the Skill Understanding the Importance of Safe Food Handling

Must maintain food safety education and certification requirements per local, state

and federal regulatory agencies. Must demonstrate effective customer service skills. Must be able to present

information effectively to small groups, customers, clients, and community associates.

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions decimals.

Must have a desire to work with senior population.

Pay up to $ 20.00 based in experience.

 
Position Requirements
  1. Ability to carry a service tray according to dining room etiquette.
  2. Adhere to quality and quantity standards for receiving food and non-food products according to standards established.
  3. Assign and assist duties and activities to wait/service associates.
  4. Be tactful and professional in handling residents’ concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
  5. Coordinate ordering and storage of supplies.
  6. Coordinate special functions with Director and Chef, including physical set-up of room, schedule of service and breakdown.
  7. Ensure all dining room tables are properly set and or reset with the correct placement of linen, flatware and glasses.
  8. Ensure all menus and recipes meet the Dining Services Standards.
  9. Ensure all side work before and after meals is completed.
  10. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, budget parameters and quality standard for the

department.

  1. Ensure that all Dining Services associates adhere to dress codes and all Dining Services Standards.
  2. Ensure that all Dining Services associates follow safe food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation

techniques per infection control policies and procedures.

  1. Ensure that dining room and kitchen equipment maintained, and repair as needed.
  2. Ensure that residents, guests, and associates receive high quality food and service in a timely fashion.
  3. Ensure that the Dining Services operation is in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, ordinances and policies.
  4. Ensure the general operation of resident food service and therapeutic diets are according to patterns

established by the consultant Dietitian.

  1. Ensure the proper storage of food and nonfood items is follow, and exercise the first in, first out

method for rotation.

  1. Ensure wait staff has knowledge of how items are prepared, cooked and served and be ready to

describe items accurately to residents.

  1. Establish and maintain a caring and nurturing environment, which supports the health of the residents of the community.
  2. Flatware, glasses, and condiment holders are clean and polished.
  3. Inform Dining Service Director of food needs and residents’ likes and dislikes.
  4. Keep accurate meal records and entered data information per community’s policy and procedures.
  5. Must have knowledge of proper portion control and yield factors.
  6. Maintain a neat and orderly dining room.
  7. Oversee the preparation of meals and make sure they are presented in a professional manner.
  8. Prepare staff schedules, seating chart and daily wait staff assignments for Dining Room, Healthcare

and Assisted Living.

  1. Provide orientation, training, disciplining, evaluation of wait staff and dietary aides.
  2. Provide table service and assist associates as needed.
  3. Schedule associates to ensure all shifts are cover for dining room operation.
  4. Take reservation, seat and greet all customers and take medical tray orders to residents.
  5. Take responsibility for the supply and appearance of menus.
  6. Attends all meetings and in services as requested by Director.
  7. Is observant and aware of any situations or occurrences in the community that may pose a safety hazard to residents or staff. Report such observation immediately to supervisor.
  8. Performs job duties in accordance with safety rules.
  9. Performs other duties as may from time to time be requested by Director.
