Position Retention and Recruitment Coordinator, Early Childhood Education  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Base Wage $19.00-20.90 per hour based on education and experience. Full benefit package available.  
Description

Summary

Providing technical assistance and support services for potential licensed and license exempt child care providers and to recruit and retain child care providers and programs into the field. Support license exempt providers seeking approval in Child Care Assistance Program and ongoing completion/verification of required license exempt provider training.

Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create and implement an annual Retention and Recruitment Plan for child care providers using available data sources for the Service Delivery Area.
  • Recruit and retain child care providers by creating and implementing outreach activities and events across nine counties. 
  • Provide technical assistance to potential licensed and license exempt child care providers through initial application processes to become an approved provider in the Child Care Assistance Program and/or steps in child care licensing with the state.
  • Provide technical assistance to license exempt providers on training requirements.
  • Support child care providers in the process of becoming members of the Gateways Training Registry.
  • Enter data tracking training completion of license exempt providers as needed in both state databases and internal reporting systems.
  • Provide facilitation support of trainings sponsored by Child Care Resource & Referral.
  • Offer regular Family Child Care Orientation sessions for potential child care providers.
  • Manage the Quality Improvement Funds for License Exempt Child Care Providers and support the process for all child care providers with the Training Team.
  • Support activities related to monitoring of license exempt child care providers.

Education and Experience - Minimum of Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields (ECE, Child Development, Child Psychology/Behavioral Sciences, Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Elementary Education, Child Welfare, Family Services.

Language SkillsEffective communicator with ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, board of directors, and the general public.

Computer Skills - Experience with Microsoft Office software, Adobe Reader, and other basic computer applications. Operate a PC and related software. Type 30 words per minute. Utilize computer databases.

Maintain high attention to detail. Maintain effective working relationships with others. Work overtime as needed

Travel - Must be willing to travel in and out of community

Physical Demands –  Regularly required to remain in a stationary position, sit, move or traverse, operate computers, reach with hands and arms, and use hands/fingers to hold small items and type. Corrected vision and hearing aids may be used to have capacity for normal range required for seeing computer screens, hearing through a phone, greeting visitors, answering phones, and interacting with others. This position works indoors. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
