Share Email Opening Title DSP - Residential  About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state. Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.   Description     Available positions: Pay rate $17.60 per hour. Part time 1st: 24 hrs a week (7:00-3:30pm). 1st Part Time, 2 positions available = 8 hrs a week (7:00-3:30pm every other weekend). 2nd shift part time: 3:15pm -11:45pm= 24 hrs per week, 2 positions available. Part time 2nd: 8 hrs a week (3:15pm- 11:45 pm every other weekend). 3rd shift 24 hrs a week (11:30pm - 7:30 a.m). 3rd shift . 8 hrs a week- (11:30pm - 7:30 a.m. every other weekend). Back up positions all shifts available: $17.00 per hrs   The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall support to adult individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. This position provides or assists with activities according to the specific needs of the individuals. This includes personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, grooming) mealtime and simple household tasks such as laundry, cleaning or bed making. In smaller settings, the DSP may prepare and serve meals and snacks. Some DSP's give medications to the individuals. The Direct Support Professional also assists with teaching communication, recreation/leisure skills and appropriate behaviors. On occasions, the DSP transports/accompanies individuals to activities in the community and to local or out of town appointments. **Positions listed above are filled according to first-come, first-serve, are subject to availability, and may change without prior notice. ***Please note: While resumes are accepted, the online application and questionnaire MUST be completed before a candidate will be considered for any open positions. Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays. In most positions, a valid driver's license and driving record that meets the agency's insurability standards is essential. Course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and behavior management. Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data. Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.   **Full COVID-19 vaccination OR an approved medical or religious exemption is now required.
