Full-time, permanent position in Passaic County.
Clinical Counselor is responsible for coordinating and providing trauma – informed, evidence based clinical interventions to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault including short and long term individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, case management and advocacy.
Counseling & Direct Support

Coordinate and provide trauma informed, evidence based and culturally sensitive counseling, immediate crisis intervention, needs assessment, and safety planning with all survivors who access PCDSVC supportive services.

Provide best practice methodologies for domestic violence, sexual assault and trauma victims including creative therapies such as art, play and drama in addition to traditional talk therapy.

Ensure all direct support services are delivered using a trauma-informed and client-defined approach.

Coordinate and provide individual and or group counseling sessions, to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, adjusting to life, coping strategies or making changes; guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.

Assess clients’ primary areas of support and needs, and respond to self-identified goals by providing case management, advocacy and referrals related to housing, public assistance, immigration, employment, education, children’s and other issues. Act as a case manager for assigned caseloads depending on program assignment.

Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.

Attend various community meetings and conducts outreach to promote awareness of PCWC’s services.

Conduct community outreach as needed.

Collect, analyze, and report departmental statistics and enter data into client database in an accurate and timely manner as set forth in NJAC- PCWC’s policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Clinical Supervisor
Clinical supervision is where a counselor’s clinical work is reviewed and reflected upon with the aims of improving the supervisee's work with clients, ensuring client welfare, supporting the supervisee in relation to their work and supporting the supervisee's professional development and takes place within a safe and trauma-informed environment. Functions include:

Provide clinical supervision to agency staff, including Counselors, DVL’s and Case Manager both adult and child and family counselors.

Ensure direct services utilizes trauma-informed, evidence based clinical interventions to promote healing and safety of victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
