Description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding Team Members, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and employee relations support.

Essential Functions:

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, Team Members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists with weekly New Team Member Orientation (NTMO) and is the alternate trainer in the absence of the Director of Training & Development.
  • Leads the onboarding process, ensuring readiness for new Team Member arrivals.
  • Is an active member of Team Member Experience (TMX), which focuses on rewards and recognition efforts.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Attends and participates in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and modern technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications / Special Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • 2-4 years of HR experience is required, preferably in a hospitality environment.

  • SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required; Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS); experience with Paycor a plus.
