Description

Schedule: Friday - Sunday 6:00 am - 6:30 pm

The CNC Machinist III will operate, set up, and will have some experience doing programming of jobs on CNC equipment (i.e. Mills, Lathes, Swiss, EDM, Mill/Turn) to manufacture medical components from raw materials. The CNC Machinist III will have expertise on a specific type of equipment or be well versed in multiple types of equipment.

  • Create programs for CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software.
  • Develop CNC machining processes by selecting the tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Set-up and operate machines.
  • Interpret blueprints, including GD&T.
  • Partner with Engineering Team.
  • Design fixtures, tools, and jigs as needed.
  • Effectively troubleshoot machining issues in a machining environment.
  • Inspect product per the inspection plans. Deburr parts, if needed.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvements
  • Report any non-conforming parts to Supervisor.
  • Closely monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions or out of tolerance features, make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain machining area for cleanliness and minor preventive maintenance (i.e., Coolant levels)
  • Record production through Job Boss system.
  • Support the EMS Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) plus Machining Certification with 7+ years of CNC experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have at least a general knowledge of machining techniques on the equipment assigned.
  • Be familiar with material types and general properties of materials related to assignments.
  • Must have a working knowledge of measuring equipment including mics, calipers, comparators, and indicators.
  • Be very familiar with drawing terms and be able to interpret feature requirements.
  • Be able to read and understand the Router.
  • Understand the Data Collection System.
  • Have an understanding of relevant Safety requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Able to stand the majority of the shift to perform duties.
