Share Email Opening Title Floral Assistant Manager  Location Bold Catering & Design - Design   Description Bold Catering & Design is looking to add a Floral Assistant Manager to our award winning design team! This is an hourly full time position paying $25-30/hr depending on expereince. You should have knowledge of writing floral recipes, producing floral books, pricing floral orders, and managing budgets. This schedule will fluctuate based on event volume and will require weekend work hours - 50/50 time split in the warehouse in West Midtown and onsite at event installations. Floral Design Order all floral & non-Floral products for the department using sourcing and pre-approved vendors. Place actual orders and communicate changes and additions with the vendors in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment at all times. Responsible for creating trending, imaginative and industry leading floral designs. Is the primary liaison between the BOH floral teams and the Department. Relay all information and changes as they apply to the correct parties on the floral team. Creating floral books based on turnover information. Updating the floral board in the back with pertinent information for all events. Cost out and helps the floral manager in ordering all necessary product(s) to complete each design. Tracks, receives, and checks all orders for each project. Be able to adjust schedule to meet and receive product that may arrive after hours. Maintains current industry standards, techniques, and trends. Keeps cost efficiency for Floral COG for budgetary objectives. Maintain all floral tools, equipment, etc. Responsible for Load in and strikes on assigned events/projects. Design and create non-floral décor when and where appropriate. Operations/On-site Event Management Advise and consult with sales managers to determine pricing of floral arrangement. Meet with ECs and designers to receive all event information (turnovers) Responsible for miscellaneous services (which includes but not limited to: floral, non-floral décor, linens, tables, candle, props and furniture staging) through effective communication with lead designer, operations manager, EM, EC, planner coordinator. Keep others informed with timely and accurate and updated information and clear communication lines. Manage installation and strike crews on day of Assist with loading and unloading trucks and insuring EC have properly reserved trucking needs for Floral only orders. Manage day of staff performance and supervises all load in and resolves any strike issues. Creating imaginative and beautiful floral designs Ability to properly advise the Floral manager on individual designer’s skill sets and to properly assign the correct staff to each event. Solid knowledge of all necessary floral products, supplies, tools, etc. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening skills) Minimum of (5) years experience in floral/event design industry. Should be able to step in and smoothly manage the department in the absence of the Floral Manager.  Have an overall understanding of all responsibilities of the Floral Manager and be able to understand the P&L COG line that the assistant floral manager will manage in conjunction with the floral manager.
