All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Description Resposibilities include, but not limited to: Set up a quantitative and digital PCR (qPCR and dPCR) lab with needed instruments, equipment, and consumables. Evaluate standard and emerging technologies and platforms for qPCR and dPCR. Develop and validate off-shelf and customized single-analyte and multiplex PCR assays and conduct all needed bench work. Extract DNA and RNA from different types of samples including FFPE, fresh tissues, blood, PBMCs, buccal swab and/or saliva using manual and automatic procedures, and isolate buffy coat or PBMCs from whole blood. Draft lab manuals to assure proper sample collection, processing, transportation, and storage. Search sources and procure biological samples and check quality of reference and human samples acquired for assay validation. Draft and follow SOPs and perform work in accordance with all applicable Good Clinical Practice rules and regulations including CLIA regulations and CAP guidelines. Compile, organize and interpret assay validation data and draft validation reports. Interact and collaborate with NGS and molecular pathology functions within Acutis. Provide consultation and address client questions in real time. Manage the budget and resources allocated for a project.   Position Requirements Education: PhD or MSc degree in one of the biological sciences. Experience: PhD with 3+ or MSc with 5+ years of experience in qPCR and dPCR at a clinical laboratory, Pharma/Biotech, or an academic institution. Experience in human samples processing and DNA/RNA extraction. Experience in off-shelf kits as well as customized assays. Self-organized and operate effectively without significant day-to-day oversight, while following instructions from an upper level.
