Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is looking for a clinician to lead our Rural Jail Diversion team! Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health and Emergency Services the clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to individuals identified as having a serious mental illness and have become judicially involved.  This position works closely with Blue Ridge Court Services Unit and functions as part of the Blue Ridge Criminal Justice Board Mental Health Jail Diversion Initiative.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Blue Ridge Court Services Unit to identify potential participants.
  • Assess individuals for eligibility/appropriateness.
  • Complete VCSB agency intake process to expedite engagement with clinical services, facilitate engagement in appropriate clinical services.
  • Coordinate services with VCSB Rapid Diversion Case Manager.
  • Attend Court as indicated, serve on the Therapeutic Docket Steering committee.
  • Coordinate Clinical Service Delivery and Case Management services.
  • The RDC will exercise considerable independence and autonomy in day-to-day decision making related to the delivery of clinical services to the identified population.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in human services or related field from an accredited program, and
  • Licensed mental health professional eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
