POSITION SUMMARY

This position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization. Provides timekeeping guidance on pay policies and procedures to team members, timekeepers and leaders. Reviews and audits transaction activity and communicates effectively during payroll processing to all levels of staff, ensuring accuracy of pay every pay period. Researches pay issues, seeks resolutions, and processes off-cycle payments. Performs audits and reviews timecards and previous pay period adjustments. Processes and audits all post payroll reporting and employee wage-related updates, working alongside with the human resources partners. Works with benefits brokers to build an annual benefit catalog and administering benefits to new hires and through payroll. Spearheading the annual open enrollment process.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform activities associated with processing payroll and benefits.
  • Create, update and maintain various payroll reports utilized by HR, Accounting and Management team members.
  • Input garnishment and support orders in the payroll system.
  • Perform activities to terminate employees in payroll and benefits systems.
  • Receives and uploads benefit payroll deduction information.
  • Assist employees and Human Resource team members with payroll related questions and reports.
  • Process new hire enrollment and change forms for benefit deductions in the payroll system.
  • Process the 401k upload after each processed payroll.
  • Train all new supervisors/managers on time keeping system and their role/responsibility in the system with their team’s time cards.
  • Assist in End of year W2 processing and reporting.
  • Assist in ACA compliance and 1095-C reporting
  • Maintain compliance with local municipality employment taxes
  • Process and audit employee payroll timesheets using a high degree of independent judgement. Identify any discrepancies that require follow-up and resolution prior to processing. Ensure the accuracy of gross salaries, deductions, W-4 information, direct deposit information, benefits, and retirement data.
  • Process adjustments to payroll including retro pay and bonus payments.
  • Process off-cycle manual checks as needed.
  • Process check reversals and direct deposit reversal / rejections.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform and assist with regular audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all employee information.

 

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.
  • At least three years related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge rules and regulations as they relate to adherence of processing payroll and administering benefits.
  • Overall knowledge of payroll and HR concepts and functions.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and math skills.
