About the Organization Established June 15, 1971, Valley Community Services Board is a publicly funded organization where citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta and Highland Counties can receive Behavioral Health, Substance Use and Developmental Services services. Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is seeking a licensed or license-eligible clinician to serve as the lead clinician and program coordinator at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center (SVJC).

Summary of Essential Duties

  • Provides mental health and substance use services to children and adolescents placed at SVJC.
  • Works collaboratively with SVJC employees and other service providers as a representative of VCSB.
  • Guides, directs, and coaches team members to meet or exceed program objectives.
  • Monitors program for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, all candidates must possess:

  • Master's degree in human services or related field from an accredited program.
  • Current status as an LMHP supervisee or resident in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

The most competitive candidates will possess one or more of the following:

  • Current LCSW, LPC, or similar credential.
  • Previous experience working within the juvenile justice system.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Clinical experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance (SED) or at-risk for SED.
 
Position Requirements  
Salary Information $50,000 - $54,000 annually, plus benefits.
