Supply Center Manager / Counter Sales 

Description

The Supplies Center Manager is responsible for adhering and following the daily Supply Center policies and procedures, growing sales of the Supplies Center to which he/she is helping manage. They will participate in the management of the center’s inventory and help control overall budget related expenses.

The manager will also perform a variety of customer service, marketing, promotion, and stocking duties related to the sales, receiving and delivery of flooring supply type products. This role will be responsible for counseling and assisting customers in person and via phone as well as ensuring that customers and installers are provided with their flooring supplies in an efficient and professional manner. The manager will help to maximize sales, profitability, growth within the assigned counter sales customers by effectively selling supplies and/or related tool rental services.

Responsibilities:

  • Display a “customer first” attitude
  • Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach
  • Sell and cross-sell products and services to customers and prospects through consultative selling techniques
  • Participate in the development of the Supplies Center sales and expense budgets
  • Help manage and sell products and services to meet/exceed the Supplies Center sales and expense budgets
  • Open/close and help manage day-to-day operations of the Supplies Center
  • Advise and counsel installers and other customers on the features, benefits and optimum application of products
  • Demonstrate products and services to existing/potential customers and assist them in the selection on the best product for the job
  • Help manage and maintain proficiency with all company business systems, including multiple computer functions
  • Manage, administer and maintain point-of-sale invoicing, collections of funds in various methods of payment; cash, checks, debit and credit cards
  • Manage, maintain, order and replenish Supplies Center inventory to ensure needed inventory is maintained on hand and that quick and accurate customer service is provided
  • Provide technical counsel regarding supplies products and services to internal departments including Sales, Customer Service, Training, Installation and Marketing
  • Manage the verification, receipt, shipping and stocking of all flooring supplies products in accordance with all Company guidelines through the conduct of weekly cycle counts and/or the conduct of a full physical inventory, as needed
  • Provide counsel to the Manager of Supplies Centers on sales, activities, competition and industry trends that are unique to the Supplies Center’s territory.
  • Perform Day-End Processes: cash reconciliation, credit card processing, and insure all billing is completed.
  • Manage the Rental and Repair functions of the Branch, if offered at that particular facility.
 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED,
  • Previous floor covering experience very helpful,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills,
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications including Word, and Excel,
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills,
  • Previous consultative selling and business development skills experience preferred,
  • Previous experience operating a business, department or cost/profit center,
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require overnight travel,
  • Planning, organization and work management skills,
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) is a plus,
  • Previous forklift experience,
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds, and
  • Additional duties as assigned.
