About the Organization Easterseals Louisiana (ESL) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people's lives everyday. Established in 1951, our organization supports over 8,600 individuals (whom we refer to as Participants) with a variety of disabilities. A leading provider of disability services, ESL has physical locations in 8 regions of Louisiana and our array of programs include; support coordination (case management) for children, adults and elderly participants, a wide range of behavioral health and housing services, early intervention services for infants and toddlers, and a school setting called The Chartwell Center in New Orleans.

Description

Summary of Position:

The Assistant Vice President of Quality serves as a member of the Quality Department in the Impact Core Team in order to ensure that ESL’s support is delivered effectively to advance the mission of the organization. The AVP of Quality drives continuous quality improvement by partnering with program leaders at all levels of the organization to identify trends and support change. They lead the accreditation efforts of their assigned programmatic areas. Additionally they assure that ESL’s practices are in compliance with program rules, contractual agreements, and applicable laws.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Managing data analysis and interpretation of trends

  • Strategizing the development of quality management and quality improvement programs

  • Interpretation of State and Federal Regulatory standards and requirements

  • Managing CARF Accreditation and NCQA Accreditation

  • Driving internal file audits

  • Works with department colleagues to develop Quality strategic plans and drive improvement, with focus in assigned programmatic areas.

  • Identifies trends in quality across the organization and develops and implement solutions to drive improvement.

  • Serves as active participant in assigned ESL Committees. Monitors and tracks initiatives implemented by these committees.

  • Develops and implements tools and procedures for utilization by leaders in assigned programmatic areas and conducts sample reviews as per the quality indicators of the monitoring tool.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • Strong data analysis skills (preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business, Healthcare, or Public Administration or a related field is strongly desired.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in program leadership, quality improvement, data analysis and reporting, and/or related fields

  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in the nonprofit sector, with responsibility for planning and building systems, and processes.

  • Technologically adept – comfort, familiarity, and ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications.

  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to use internet browsers, video conferencing.

  • Ability to exhibit appropriate use of grammar and spelling in written communication, exhibit appropriate use of grammar in oral communication; ensure oral and written communication is professional.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions and implement accordingly.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, requiring sensitivity to both personality issues and corporate efficiency.

  • Exhibits strong presentation skills with large and small audiences, including ESL’s executive team and the Board of Directors.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, where applicable.

  • Ability and willingness to travel, as required.
