Description

LCSW, Clinical Manager, Behavioral Services, Eating Disorder Program needed for full-time, permanent position in Bergen County.

  • Leads the planning process for developing and implementing a comprehensive program for patients and families served throughout the department.
  • Works closely with the Services Directors, Nursing leadership to effectuate the discharge planning and utilization management processes.
  • Select, hires and supervises program staff, initiates disciplinary action. Including terminations; carries out annual performance appraisal of employees, recommending promotions, etc.
  • Orients and trains new employees in departmental operations. 1,3 Serves as liaison with professional and lay group
  • Coordinates field instruction for social work and counseling students.
  • Provides ongoing clinical supervision and training opportunities for social work staff to ensure the provision of appropriate patient services and required skills required for the positions in the department.
  • Assessment, treatment and patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Provides direct treatment services to patients utilizing modalities (individual, group, family, crisis intervention) which appropriately address the needs and treatment goals of patients.
  • Performs psychodynamic assessments, and formulates diagnostic impressions and recommendations for treatment.
  • Provides case management services as needed to ensure treatment plan is being followed and to assist patients in accessing health, mental health, supportive and concrete services.
  • Develops discharge care plans (suggests appropriate community resources) and actively participates in effecting the plans.
  • Interprets nature of illness and prescribed course of treatment to patients and families; communicate clinical issues to other staff members.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment planning conferences and makes recommendations regarding the needs of the patient.
  • Provides consultative services to Department of Psychiatry, Medical Center and school and other agency staff regarding appropriate interventions for the patient population.
  • Represents the discipline and department to the Medical Center and other agencies throughout the NJ region.
  • Expediently responds to and resolves problems relative to services and patient care issues.
  • Participates on performance improvement projects within Behavioral Health Services and participates in PI initiatives on other levels, as needed.
  • Fulfills all reporting and documentation requirements on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations.
  • Understands and adheres to the Medical Center's Code of Conduct.

OTHER JOB DUTIES

  • Works in a collegial relationship with other staff to optimize operational and clinical effectiveness. Performs other related clinical and administrative duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Enhances professional growth by attending in-services and educational programs. Participates in departmental meetings and other activities.
  • Serves on Medical Center committees and external committees as required.
 
Position Requirements

Masters of Social Work from an accredited school. Current licensure as an LCSW and possesses a Clinical Supervision Certificate.

Minimum of 3 years post-master’s degree in a psychiatric setting with emphasis on the serious and persistent mentally ill.

Experience working with Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating.

Minimum of 1 years as an administrative/clinical supervisor.
