Summary: Assurety Consulting, a leader in the postal/parcel ecosystem, seeks highly qualified applicants for a Principal Business/Technical Analyst position. This is a full-time position in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid working opportunity 2-3 days a week. This position requires a US Government security clearance and either US Citizenship or a Green Card.

Qualified individuals will be highly independent and motivated, and specialists in complex technical and business matters. Our Principal Business/Technical Analyst collaborates with the client, plans, and delivers requirements and design documents for three to four software releases per year. These are highly technical projects that directly impact revenue, costs, products, operations, systems, and applications associated with the client’s enterprise.

Conditions of Employment (REQUIRED):

  • US Citizenship or Green Card.
  • The position requires security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration).
  • 10+ years in business and technical and systems analysis, evaluation, and user needs identification experience.
  • 6+ years leading requirements planning and management activities in agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Problem-solving and consultant-like skills to recognize, analyze, and respond to business and technical problems.
  • Skills to convert stakeholder needs into software requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills (English).
  • Technology and Technology management experience to help develop and provide management guidance for new digital products, services, and solutions.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision for day-to-day tasks.
  • Organized and attentive to details.
  • Preferred Applicant Characteristics:
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders related to integration management and risk management.
  • Experience in the postal/parcel ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables) and Programming Languages (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, JavaScript, C#)
  • Experience with flat files, data files, XML, JSON,

General Job Duties:

  • Document and develop requirements and support testing activities for mission-critical commercial systems and products.
  • Analyze systems, applications, and the customer’s new business needs to develop requirements driven by systems engineering principles.
  • Develop mailing, parcel, and digital products solutions platforms and supporting innovation initiatives of the client.
  • Serve as an expert business and technical liaison between IT and users.
  • Analyze Cloud transition and deployment strategies.
  • Present FAQs and other customer-oriented documentation to explain the IA program to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create risk management plans, identify risks, and communicate them to the client and PMO.
  • Create webinars and other training material for end users.
  • Compile process flows and technical documentation.
  • Produce weekly reports for the client and verify issues reported by users.
  • Support customer service communication and collaboration activities.
  • Support internal and external customers on new software functionality.
  • Develop plans for Business Needs Statements releases with dependencies and requirements for the release.
  • Develop agile stories and waterfall software requirements documents.
  • Manage daily workload and communicate progress in meetings with Assurety’s project lead and weekly reports to the client.
  • Perform Quality Assurance activities including developing and executing test plans, test case requirements/test use case matrix, and reporting on testing activities.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to developing agile and waterfall business, functional and technical requirements, API design documents, business needs statements, schedules, requirements matrix, reports, technical and business guides, management of data specifications changes, Change Request, Engineering Change Requests, Test Problem Reports, communications performance analytics, training PowerPoints to train customers (internal and external on new products, systems, supplication, processes).
