Education

A high school diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree in business or accounting preferred.

Experience

A minimum of eight (5) years of experience in related positions normally required.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the assigned credit fulfillment function; coordinating work within the unit or department, as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, assisting in the training of new Commercial Loan Assistants.

Essential Duties

  1. Performs a variety of duties to support the assigned credit fulfillment function of which the following are illustrative:
  1. Assists with loan application processing tasks, e.g., obtains required information, compiles data, orders credit reports, as directed, rudimentary credit analysis.
  2. Collects/reviews all required financial data prior to submission to the Credit Department and assists with preparation of loan presentation or request as necessary.
  3. Interfaces with vendors as needed to obtain required documentation to close the loan, including, but not limited to, ordering appraisals, ordering title work, UCC search, certificates of good standing, insurance forms (property, title, et), Ag equipment lists, environmental checklists or lawyer prepared documents as needed.
  4. Creates Hypothecation agreements, notice of commencements, subordination agreements, and applications.
  5. Reviews executed loan documents for accuracy and completeness prior to funding a loan and confirms funding.
  6. Verifies a wide variety of credit information which will become part of the credit file, e.g., insurance forms, etc.
  7. Maintains required information, gathers missing documentation, and notifies appropriate personnel of credit information deficiencies as appropriate.
  8. Dispenses credit information within prescribed policy.
  9. Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various loan reports as directed. Maintains a number of activity logs to generate weekly or monthly reports to assist the Commercial Loan Officer
  10. Reviews/maintains pending loan maturities 90 days prior to maturity date to ensure there are no administrative past dues and to eliminate last minute extensions.
  11. Partners with Commercial Loan Officer and/or Credit Department Personnel to resolve past due loans, lines of credit, and delinquent taxes
  12. Manage annual reviews (demand and Loan Review); identify/report significant changes in the financial status of borrowers, guarantors, or appraised values of real estate as appropriate.
  13. Review assigned Commercial Loan Officer's portfolio on a weekly basis.
  14. May meet with customer to obtain signatures and to close approved loa
  15. Prepares a variety of correspondence, letters and forms, including commitment letters, letters requesting updated financial information, etc.
  16. Interface with loan review/regulators and/or auditors as required or directed by the Chief Credit Officer
  17. Assist with management of imaged Credit File documents to ensure all appropriate information is updated and maintained, such as credit memos, correspondence, etc., and all outdated information is removed (as per Bank Policy).
  18. Contributes to the Company's growth and customer satisfaction by helping customers to resolve problems with their banking transactions.
  1. Coordinates specific work tasks with the other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  1. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate company personnel.
  1. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other company personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  1. Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
  1. Coordinate training plans for new Commercial Loan Assistants and provide recommendations for on-going training for the department.
  1. Mentoring of Commercial Loan Assistants as they work with lenders and loan processing and filter new information out to all Commercial Loan Assistants.
  1. Management of department pipeline and coordination of workload based on lender's volume and department staffing. Provide periodic recommendations as lender's portfolio's change and increased lending personnel.
  1. Responsible for updating and retaining the department's processes and procedures.
  1. Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the department pipeline, all lender's matrix and reporting on errors.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual or departmental circumstances.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects up to 10 pounds in all directions.
  • Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly moves wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Occasionally has to work around noisy environments.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
