Healthcare Instructor

Description

Primary Functions:

  • Teach a 6-week CNA class six times a year.
  • Ensure students also learn basic interpersonal skills through online courses and/or onsite classes
  • Evaluate participants referred for each course to determine each participant’s readiness.
  • Enroll participants in the appropriate online courses and provide any additional class materials.
  • Work with participants to determine specific needs, and assist in accessing resources of partner agencies.
  • Monitor each participant's progress, including responding promptly to participant's issues, monitoring progress in training courses, resolving work-readiness issues, assisting with employment, and following up on job retention.
  • Document experience of each student and facilitate progress towards completion of training/employment goals.
  • Serve as main contact and coordinator for the individual and other involved partners, persons or agencies.
  • Conduct employer outreach and actively research opportunities to assist participants with employment goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective stakeholders who include but not limited to participants, service providers, educational partners, internship sites, and employers.
  • Enter all case management information in the client tracking system weekly to support organizational goals.
  • Ensure data accuracy in database for assessments, enrollments, career training, case-management services, job retention follow up, referrals, and career pathway updates.
  • Submit all required and/or requested documentation/reports/paperwork by assigned due dates.

Outcomes:

  • Maintains an average of 25 students in each Tallahassee CNA cohort.
  • Maintains an 80% class completion rate in each Tallahassee CNA cohort (20 per cohort)
  • Maintains a 65% certification rate in each Tallahassee CNA cohort (16 certified CNA's per cohort)
  • Maintains a 75% Job Placement Rate for participants who complete the Tallahassee CNA course (15 per cohort)
  • Maintains a 85% participant satisfaction rate through the use of online class surveys

 

 

 
Position Requirements

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in career development, job development and job placement required.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Previous experience teaching a diverse population of adults.
  • Effective team player.
  • Comfortable using computer and mobile computing technology like Wi-Fi, laptops, smart phones, Microsoft Office products, Google web-based products, databases, etc.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students.
  • Demonstrated organizational and office skills in developing, managing and tracking program materials, processes, and procedures.
  • Effective human services skills such as coaching, mentoring, supervision, motivation, and tracking of such services required.
  • Previous experience developing relationships with prospective employers required.
  • Experience teaching diverse populations.
  • Experience using computer and virtual technologies.
  • Experience with Case Management

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with course work in Healthcare.
  • Multiple years of experience in the healthcare field is required.
