Part-Time Instructor, Culinary  

Description

Job Functions

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the culinary field.
  • Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
  • Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of classroom discipline.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
  • Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech’s ACD program.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
 
Position Requirements
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen setting required.
  • Must be ServSafe certified or be willing to become certified upon employment.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in a classroom/kitchen setting to adult students in introductory culinary arts topics.
  • Requires flexibility to teach one to two evenings a week, several times a semester, at Tulsa Tech campus location(s).
  • Hours not to exceed 20 per week

Education High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a culinary program.  
Salary Schedule Standard Rate Schedule for Non-Regular and Regular Part-Time Employees  
Hiring Range $35 per hour

About the Organization Tulsa Tech is the oldest and largest career & technical training center in OK. We are an independent public school district, with multiple campuses in the Tulsa County area. Our school serves secondary students from public school districts throughout Tulsa County, as well as private, parochial and home-schooled students. A significant adult enrollment is also served throughout the year in both full and part-time training programs. We also provide custom training programs for business and industry in NE Oklahoma.
