Cruelty Investigations Department Coordinator

Position Objective:

Perform a wide range of administrative-support duties for the Cruelty Investigations Department

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintain and update departmental databases, files, and video archives

• Communicate with other departments about internal matters and needs

• Research a variety of animal protection issues to further investigations

• Assist with investigations, including the following:

o Liaising with investigators and working closely with research associates
o Viewing and transcribing undercover videos
o Logging undercover photos
o Performing a variety of tasks to prepare for the public release of investigations

• Maintain and ensure functionality of the equipment used by undercover investigators

• Assist with caring for animals in PETA's custody

• Transport animals to and from spay or neuter appointments and other veterinary appointments

• Participate in PETA's Community Animal Project emergency-pager rotation and/or the national pager rotation

• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Position Requirements

• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• One year of experience in an office environment

• Proven excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Proven effective written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated effective research skills

• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends

• Willingness and ability to travel on occasion

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record

• Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
