About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grown to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.  
Description

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4:30pm-7:30pm and every other weekned (Sat. & Sun.) 7:00am-1:30pm take a break and back at 4:30pm-7:30pm. ***This can be 2 different positions also.***
Salary: $17.60 per hour

The Dietary Specialist is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for individuals living in Skill Creations, Inc. facilities, who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and /or medical care needs. This includes following recipes, assembling, combining and cooking ingredients. Typically there are 15 individuals living in a facility and their diets may vary in particular ways due to allergies, medical conditions and difficulty swallowing or chewing. The Dietary Specialist is responsible for ensuring each individual receives food and beverages according to any special diet order, and in many cases will assist DSP staff with meal time direct client care. The Dietary Specialist must operate appliances and kitchen equipment, manage inventory and maintain a sanitary kitchen. Dietary Specialists are responsible for the day to day kitchen operations, working under the supervision of the Facility Director and the direction of a Registered Dietitian.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

<ul> <li>Working knowledge of dietary requirements for individuals with special needs preferred</li> <li>Experience in institutional cooking is preferred</li> <li>18 years of age or older</li> <li>High School diploma or GED</li> <li>Valid driver's license</li> <li>Working personal phone</li> <li>Dependable transportation</li> <li>Minimal proficiency in computer use for e-mail, electronic paystubs, completion of training modules</li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs.</li> <li>Ability to work on holidays and during inclement weather</li></ul><p> </p> **Full COVID-19 vaccination OR an approved medical or religious exemption is now required.
