Description

**Remote in NY only**

The Consumer Lending Department is seeking an experienced, career minded, results driven individual to join a team of professionals that are dedicated to improving the lives of our members, their families, and communities. The Lending Center Team is a group of experienced lenders that work remotely to provide members with consultative support and lending solutions through video conference, web and telephone (inbound and outbound) delivery channels. Job Responsibilities:

  • The ideal individual will perform job duties proficiently in a telecommuting capacity, and through a highly consultative sales approach to ensure quality of service through video conferencing;
  • Promotes and expands relationships through the hearts of our members;
  • Proficiently explains different products, counsels members regarding the product that best suits their needs; and quotes scenarios;
  • Utilizes account or loan applications, credit bureau reports and conversations to identify opportunities to refinance loans or bring over additional accounts held by other institutions;
  • Effectively identifies, recommends, and/or negotiates alternative lending solutions;
  • Recognizes and refers members to other teams for additional support such as financial planning advice, mortgage referrals, late loan payments or real estate needs;
  • Interprets, negotiates, and processes conditions set by Underwriting in order to meet closing and funding timelines;
  • Completes required documentation for borrowers, reviews loan information for accuracy, submits loans for final approval and prepares files for closing;
  • Schedules closings with related parties including members, Internal Owners of the Member Relations and Lending teams as necessary;
  • Records loan information in the appropriate system, reviews loan applications, signed closing packets and documentation ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance and;
  • Explains reasons for loan denial and explores options for members when loans are denied.
 
Position Requirements
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal communication, both verbal and written;
  • Demonstrate exceptional relationship building skills, problem solving and time management skills;
  • Work well independently from home, while also contributing to the team;
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace, high energy environment;
  • Proficiency with PC software with an ability to learn multiple computer programs; and
  • Experience and Education Requirements:
    • 5 years of experience in a professional sales environment for candidates without an Associate’s degree or;
    • 2 years of experience in a professional lending environment for candidates with a 2 year related degree.
