Summary: Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Lead LPN will provide clinical support and oversight of the clinical staff will ensure that efficient and optimal care is delivered to the patients in the ambulatory practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure standards of Clinical Practice and Infection Control are maintained:
  • Oversee that all Clinical standards and Administrative policies are practiced and upheld by support staff.
  • Collaborative with Nurse Manager to ensure staff attends orientation, annual recertification and yearly physicals
  • Oversee the daily quality controls are performed.
  • Develop and oversee a cleaning and stocking assignment and schedule for support staff.
  • Maintains and monitors stock inventory in the clinics and replenishes supplies in exam rooms on a timely basis.
  • Prepares and processes requisitions for routine supplies in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Monitors the integrity of equipment and promptly reports malfunction, missing or damage equipment.
  • Maintain in the medication room, by checking for expired items and correct par level of medications. Maintain refrigerator temp log and daily O2 check.
  • Direct oversight of clinical staff assigned to office.
  • Assess and evaluate staff performance and complete annual assessment, performance programs and competencies
  • Assign staff to work with providers and address staffing shortfalls.
  • Maintain efficiency of clinical operations.
  • Work closely with other clinical leads and Nurse Manager to ensure consistency in processes and procedures across practice locations.
  • Provide Clinical support and act as a resources to staff members.
  • Demonstrates competency in answering phones, patient registration, making appointments, computer data entry and retrieval reports.
  • Others duties as assigned.

Position Requirements


Valid New York State License as LPN.

OB/GYN experience required.

Five (5) years full time medically related experience in patient care in an inpatient or outpatient setting

Demonstrated working knowledge of electronic medical records

.Ability to work in a fast paced environment.


At least five years of prior experience working as an LPN in a busy physician practice.

Licensed LPN

Knowledge of medical terminology

Knowledge of  clinical practices and procedures

Candidate should have excellent computer skills and some knowledge of using an electronic medical record and various other computer applications needed to perform the job

Physical Demands:

May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
