SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Magical Forest Event Manager, the Magical Forest Associate is responsible for performing a variety of duties in an amusement park/retail environment. The incumbent may operate amusement concessions, rides and general duties which involve physical handling of product, materials, supplies and equipment. The Associate is also responsible for training and assisting nightly volunteers with their assigned park operations duties. There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours.

There are evening hours and weekend responsibilities with this position that may require extended hours. This is a seasonal position through the months of August 2023 – January 2024 utilized to support the Magical Forest.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide information about park attractions, facilities, rides, entertainment options, and rules/regulations of the Magical Forest to both guests and volunteers.
  2. Train and assist box office staff with the procedures to sell entry tickets, as well as train volunteers to properly verify, collect, or validate tickets and distribute wristbands or informational flyers to guests before admission to the Magical Forest.
  3. Train volunteers operating kiosks or concession booths in cash register operation, selling merchandise, facilitating games, awarding prizes and photographing patrons.
  4. Provide guests and volunteers with information and assistance regarding the safe entering or exiting rides, or mounting or dismounting carousel animals.
  5. Be knowledgeable of park emergency evacuation and ride shut down procedures and assist with these procedures, if the situation arises.
  6. Assist with the sale or serving of food or refreshments to customers, as needed.
  7. Clean equipment, rides, booths or concessions areas, as needed.
  8. Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with company safety and sanitation requirements.
  9. Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).\
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.
  • Must encompass professional demeanor and confidentiality.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Required: One (1) to three (3) years verifiable work experience in an amusement / theme park, retail or related work environment.
  • Preferred: Current Driver's License
  • Preferred: Prior experience with developmentally disabled individuals.

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity to operate equipment.
  • Ability to bend, squat and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outside in a theme park environment in variable weather conditions.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and social perceptiveness to respond in a calm, kind and professional manner to common inquiries, criticisms or complaints while working in a fast-paced and noisy environment.
  • Must have a positive and enthusiastic outlook and a commitment for excellence in work.
