Description

LifeLine Ambulance is seeking a hard-working and skilled paramedic to join our dynamic team as a Medical Supervising Officer (MSO) to provide daily supervision and assistance to crew members. We are looking for a person that demonstrates a passion for helping others and operating with a Commitment to Excellence.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and may be expanded or changed as needed to include other functions. This list is in addition to the job description for which the MSO holds current EMS certification.

Essential:

  1. Must be an Advocate for LifeLine at all times for recruitment of new personnel and staff development.

  2. Must be able to establish team motivation.

  3. Must work to ensure a team environment and overall crew morale is maintained.

  4. Must provide quality customer service to all.

  5. Maintain confidentiality.

  6. Must perform all duties and responsibilities within the scope of current EMS certification job description.

  7. Must set a positive example for all to follow.

  8. Attend and participate in Management Team meetings, as well as other EMS related meetings.

  9. Supervise and coordinate daily operations during MSO's operational period.

  10. Responsible for finding coverage for non-scheduled transports to maintain coverage obligations.

  11. Responsible for arranging, taking information and scheduling transports during the operational period.

  12. Responsible for coordination of staff, transports and 911's during the operational period.

  13. Responsible for knowing the location of all crews and ensuring crew safety.

  14. Responsible for coordinating the ordering and dissemination of supplies, equipment and paperwork as assigned.

  15. Responsible for electronically sending of necessary forms by 0800 hrs daily while on shift ensuring all forms are filled out and completed entirely and all information is correct before sending.

  16. Assures that daily expectations, MICU checks and employee performance standards are met.

  17. Responsible for random MICU/base checks to assure operational readiness.

  18. Coordinates general maintenance of MICU's and Station.

  19. Completes injury/exposure forms for all on-duty injuries, exposures or accidents, in conduction with management.

  20. Cooperates with other agencies as needed.

  21. Responds to emergency medical calls as supervisor, performs necessary rescue work and administers emergency medical care as needed.

  22. May be required to report to work for MCI's and disasters.

  23. Actively involved with new hire training and on-going staff training on a daily basis.

  24. Performs daily duties and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

2 years minimum EMS experience required. Within 1 year of accepting MSO position must have ICS - 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800, WildLand Red Card (arduous) Certification desired but not required. Within 2 year of accepting an MSO position must attend EMS supervisory Training.

Compensation: Annual Salary of $90,000-$110,00 depending upon experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

Current Washington State Paramedic Certification.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others.

  2. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to management and coworkers.

  3. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  4. Ability to handle multiple tasks in an effective and efficient manner.

  5. Knowledge and understanding of Managers First Recourse Manual, Safety Manual, Company Handbook, SOG's and company expectations.

  6. Thorough knowledge of current EMS service needs of the county.

  7. Thorough knowledge of the geography and layout of the county including the location of roads and streets within the county as well as any special needs of the area.

  8. Thorough knowledge of equipment and supplies used in EMS.

  9. Thorough knowledge of Incident Management Systems.

  10. Knowledge and understand fleet maintenance.

  11. Ability to supervise and coordinate emergency vehicles, equipment and personnel in emergency situations, as well as non-emergency situations.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS

Job entails interrupted sleep, walking, sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and twisting/turning, manual dexterity, frequent lifting, use of keyboard and hand/eye coordination.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work involves considerable exposure elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and unpleasant odors. Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects over 100lbs. Potential exposure to dangerous material and situations. Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens.
