The Impact You'll Have:

As a Senior Constructor Inspector, you will have a strong construction background with experience working on municipal, heavy civil roadway, and bridge projects, and have experience serving as the primary field representative on complex projects.

You will report directly to Alliant's Construction Services Manager. You will also direct the work of, and provide mentorship for, other inspectors, graduate engineers, and interns. This position will provide you an opportunity to continue to build your career and work in an enjoyable and challenging work environment. Initial project assignments will be within the Minneapolis / St. Paul metropolitan area, with future opportunities available for work throughout the State of Minnesota.

Responsibilities:

  • Project inspection
  • Verify conformance with plans and specifications
  • Prepare pay estimates
  • Maintain detailed records
  • Coordinate materials testing activities
  • Perform quantity calculations
  • Produce project documentation.
  • In addition to construction inspection responsibilities, you will assist design staff with constructability reviews, quantity takeoffs, and preparation of specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree from an accredited school, or a four-year degree in a field related to Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of construction inspection experience
  • MnDOT Level 1 and 2 Technician Certification in Bituminous, Concrete, and Grading and Base Construction
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and a variety of terrains
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with construction management software programs
  • MnDOT Bridge Inspection Certification
  • Certification in specialized areas (traffic signals, ADA compliance, etc.)
