The Impact You'll Have: As a Construction Inspector, you'll have the chance to provide inspection support for the construction of roadways and related transportation projects located in the state of Minnesota. Advance your career by being exposed to a variety of inspection work on construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Responsibilities: Assist with project inspection and oversight Verify conformance with plans and specifications Prepare pay estimates and maintain detailed records Coordinate materials testing activities and perform quantity calculations and produce project record documentation. Learn design and project review tasks with assistance of other experienced construction inspection staff, which include plan and specification constructability reviews, plan tabulation development and layouts Assist with private and public utility coordination activities and perform basic survey and design calculations. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, organization and multi-tasking skills Excellent technical, written and oral communication skills Ability to perform work on Microstation or AutoCAD a plus. Demonstrated experience in construction inspection Ability to interpret construction schedules Associate's or bachelor's degrees in construction technology, construction management or engineering. MnDOT Field Certifications and experience with Federal and State aid documentation is preferred.
