SUMMARY: The Corporate Recruiter will use both traditional and non-traditional resources and a network of established contacts to identify, attract and/or headhunt talent. Resources often include community networking events, job fairs, online sources, career fairs and advertising/marketing programs. Complete all onboarding for new hires.

Recruiting Planning (25%)

  • Develop and execute recruiting plans to meet company targets and goals.
  • Develop Job Postings
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategies for open positions; obtain requisition sign off to start recruiting and sourcing.
  • Develop and track measurable facets of the recruiting and hiring process so that the processes are transparent and measurable.
  • Create job postings based on current and accurate job descriptions.
  • Provide recommendations on where to locate candidates based on openings.
  • Lead the interview plan for each open position.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates.

Candidate Screening (20%)

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify needs.
  • Post positions across multiple online venues, with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues.
  • Screen resumes and candidate information daily.
  • Identify candidates that meet the needs of the open positions.
  • Phone screen candidates for minimum requirements and identify candidates chosen to move to next step in hiring.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Outlook, set calendar invites for interviews with mangers. Coordinate multiple calendars for interviews when required.
  • Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure candidate hiring goals are achieved.
  • Serve as liaison with area employment agencies and colleges.
  • Complete timely reports on employment activity
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of the need.
  • Onboarding (10%)

  • Prepare all files, paperwork, and onboarding planning: IT, Finance, Freight, Design, and Administration to ensure a successful onboarding experience with all areas necessary to start working on day one.
  • Schedule new hire orientation.
  • Develop and present for approval mentorship program with all new hires. Once approved, implement plan with mentor and mentee and follow up in monthly increments on progress and success.
  • Interviewing (25%)

  • Conduct initial phone interviews and in some cases initial on-site interviews to narrow down the number of potential candidates who will be interviewed.
  • Schedule interviews with employees and teams where required.
  • Attend interviews as required.
  • Ensure all participants in interviews have the necessary interview questions, job description, resume and any other documentation required for an interview.
  • Ensure all interviewees and interviewers understand the interview process.
  • Continuous follow up on interview and candidate status.
  • Communicate employer information and benefits during screening process.
  • Remain current on the company's organizational structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Administrative duties are required as part of the interviewing process.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Reference Checking/Offer Stage (20%)

  • Perform all reference checks prior to offering position.
  • Provide recommendations for hiring to the VP of HR and hiring manager.
  • Prepare offer package for the selected candidate and follow through on the offer until accepted, and until the candidate begins orientation.

Early Years
For 30 years Vince Leonardo managed the in-house tradeshow department at Rochester, New York-based, Bausch & Lomb, one of the world's largest suppliers of eye health products, including contact lenses, lens care products, medicines, and implants for eye diseases. When the company decided to out-source the department, Vince started RES (Rochester Exhibit Services) and his first major client was Bausch & Lomb. Vince also opened an event company, LT Rentals, to serve both consumer and trade event business.

Both businesses prospered and after 20 years, Vince turned the company reigns over to his son, James Leonardo, who has led the growth of RES, becoming one of the nation's top 50 tradeshow and event organizations - named by EVENT MARKETER magazine in their annual profile of top industry performers.
