Instructor, BIS Technical Trainer - CNC Machining & Industrial Maintenance 

Description

Provide technical research and provide training to employees of area industrial and manufacturing companies to prepare the individuals to be successful and assist client companies in incorporating advancing technologies into their workplace.

Essential Functions

  1. Conduct training programs relating to CNC machining skills and practices.
  2. Assists Industrial Coordinators in meeting with area businesses to market the business and career development programs offered through Tulsa Tech.
  3. Conducts research and attends training and seminars to assure that the incumbent and Tulsa Tech are remaining current with technology in the machining field.
  4. Machines prototypes, tests new cutting technology, and reviews production processes to generate recommendations that will improve the client’s production efficiency.
  5. Provides assistance to specific client companies by researching and testing possible manufacturing improvements, including process analysis, software, tools, work holding devices and new equipment.
  6. Develops classroom materials for a variety of machine tool training programs (i.e. CNC machine tools, Quality Control and inspection tools, Robotics, etc.).
  7. Schedules facilities, procures materials and prepares classroom in advance to assure training time is used efficiently.
  8. Recruit, select, recommend for hire, on-board, direct and evaluate adjunct employees including instructors and consultants that participate in providing client solutions to assure effective use of the resource, and quality of service to the client organization.
  9. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department. Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.
 
Position Requirements
  • This position requires a minimum of five years' experience in  manufacturing including the operation and maintenance of CNC Machines and Industrial Machinery.
  • CNC Programming experience to include a working knowledge in the following areas:  CNC lathes and mills, set-up and operation of numerous controls, G-code programming, conversational programming language, measuring devices, tooling, fixturing of parts, Computer Aided Manufacturing, ISO documentation and processes analysis.
  • Industrial Maintenance experience to include knowledge in the following areas:  AC/DC Power, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Electric Motors and Motor Control, Programmable Logic Controllers and/or Computer Numerical Controls Industrial Machine Maintenance and Repair.
  • Currently possess or have the ability to obtain within one year, current certifications to deliver American Heart Association or Red Cross approved CPR, OSHA Outreach General Industry, OSHA General Construction and other safety topics is required.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to safety, health, fire protection and the environment. Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to safety, health, fire protection and the environment. 
  • Understand Adult learning principles specific to designing, developing and delivery of various course subjects.
  • Valid State Issued Driver's License is required.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Salary Schedule SPMS  
Hiring Range Dependent on experience and education, plus additional $7,200 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
