Embedded Software Developer

Sciton requires proof of full vaccination as a condition for employment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $85 - $110k with a competitive market-based salary. In addition, Sciton provides an opportunity to participate in equity/stock incentive programs, a profit-sharing bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K with matching.

Position Summary

This is a full-time position located at our Palo Alto, CA campus. You will work closely with the technical engineering team, developing software for medical laser systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop software for embedded systems from requirements to production.
  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software
  • Bringing up new boards from scratch
  • Write device drivers for Timers, DAC's, ADC's, SPI, I2C, USB etc.
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Write test documents for medical systems.
  • Support software QA
  • Provide post-production support
 
Position Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of direct experience as an Embedded Software Developer.
  • Working in the medical device industry is a plus.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Solid programming experience in C or C++
  • Proven experience in real-time embedded systems design
  • Experience with ARM microcontrollers
  • Experience in firsthand development and debugging.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and component data sheets
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of software systems and programming languages.
  • Proficient with software engineering tools and applications.
