Description

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of addiction treatment services designed to meet the recovery and wellness needs of clients within the For My Baby & Me and addiction treatment programs. Depending on program objectives, these services may include resource development, assessments and counseling provided individually or in a group setting and may include the consumer's family members.

Under the supervision of the RN care manager, the Substance Use Screener will provide drug testing for clients referred to the Baby & Me Program. The screener will follow all of the established protocols for the program as detailed in program description. The staff member will ensure all documentation procedures are done in accordance with agency policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate assessment tools are utilized, recorded, and that the appropriate treatment referral is made.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clinical Services:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments involving the collection, analysis, and recording of significant bio-psychosocial information as needed.
  • Completed evidence-based pre- and post-natal screenings.
  • Supports clients' strengths and resources, affirming reality testing, contact with experience, judgment and connection with support systems including family, friends and community resources
  • Consults with other service providers and documents their participation in the recovery process.
  • Care coordination: assures appropriate treatment linkages are made including assisting with housing- connecting to local resources including domestic violence.
  • Maintains established program productivity and data requirements.

Documentation:

  • Enters reports and assessments into information technology system as indicated; works with collaborative agencies to ensure data measures are captured and met.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with agency standards, accreditation and funding source requirements.
  • Assures that all HIPAA standards are followed with regards to client information

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the dangers of substance use during pregnancy
  2. Ability to accurately maintain electronic medical records.
  3. Possess good organizational skills.
  4. Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals
  5. Possess good oral/written communication skills.
  6. Possess basic computer and data entry skills.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human behavioral science such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, substance use certification, substance use education, and child development. Dual Mental Health and Addictions Licensure preferred but not required.
  • New Jersey active CADC certification completion process with all required course work completed. Course transcript submission required.
  • A minimum of one year experience providing substance abuse treatment and substance use screening experience preferred
  • Medical clearance and fingerprinting required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  1. New Jersey Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor CADC.
  2. Valid Driver's License
  3. Bilingual in Spanish preferred

This position is located at the Capital Health Women’s Clinic and does require travel between sites.
