Job Summary

The main purpose of the Imaging department is to produce digital copies of documents for retention purposes. Also responsible for organizing and distributing images.

 

Essential Functions

  • Scan microfilm jackets (requests and backscan) simultaneously using three independent scanners while maintaining strict order of batches and quality of images
  • Segment individual images including: banding, confirmation of overlaps, cut-offs, saturation, ghost images, misloaded film
  • Extract documents from fiche into main system
  • Engage release process
  • Notify: print barcodes, match to request and send to requestor
  • List New Scan: document count of daily scanned policies using Microsoft NT, submit monthly totals to manager
  • Quality Control: inspect each individual image for clarity, signatures, cut-offs, saturation, over exposure and overlaps. Verify policyholders name and if not found research and enter into system. Accept or reject each individual image in accordance with quality control guidelines/procedure
  • Original Rescan
  • New Rescan: rescan all rejected images from quality control; determine exposure by brightness, contrast, paper size and crop
  • Crop Quality Control: band all images and crop any unnecessary darkness, lines, etc., descew unbalanced images
  • Split Document: determination of groups to split images with beginning and ending policy number
  • Research
  • Maintain all onsite Microfile Jackets
  • Pull file jacket requests for policy information
  • Log all microfiche requests and activities
  • Deliver requested pulled file jackets to Imaging for processing
  • Verify imaged files in AWD and notify requesting desk or person of Status
  • Mark file jacket as imaged and file jacket to appropriate drum
  • Research missing policy information and order files from off-site storage vendor
  • Pickup POS work from specified areas on 1st and 2nd floors
  • Prepare POS work by removing staples, placing correct patch pages and copying illegible originals and deliver to paper imaging for processing
  • Assist in processing electronic policy information into AWD for International New Business
  • Cross-train in other areas as required
  • Other duties as requested by Department Manager
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to effectively interact with multiple departments, personalities, and staff levels
  • Entry level computer skills
  • Ability to move, carry, and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly preferred

 

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate or GED
