Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00 an hour based on education and experience.

Schedule: Various afternoon/evening hours, will be discussed in the interview.

What You Will Be Doing
We want people to join our team who share our values of love, excellence, respect, empowerment, and well-being. The ideal candidate will provide in-home and community-based respite services and behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. The Behavior Technician will work with individuals and families to provide person-centered care and treatment services.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of and provide services to each individual based on the service needs defined by the team and in the Individual Treatment Plan.
  • Participate in training, meetings, etc. in the community, the consumer’s home, and/or the agency's home office as needed.
  • Provide services to the client regarding psychoeducation and problem-solving to promote recovery and wellness management.
  • Use evidence-based techniques, as available, to implement behavioral support strategies and provide assistance in the use of communication and mobility devices as needed.
  • Support opportunities that increase problem-solving skills to improve self-regulation and socialization, and maximize an individual's ability to participate in community activities independently or with natural supports.
  • Provide recreation and leisure including supports identified in the person-centered individual service plan as being therapeutic in nature, and/or as being necessary to assist the individual in developing and/or maintaining social and familial relationships.
  • Implement behavioral health treatment by providing intensive services based on the individual’s mental health needs including, but not limited to: skills development, problem-solving, conflict resolution, emotions/behavior management, developing positive coping mechanisms, and managing mental health and behavioral symptoms.
  • Assist the individual with self-medication or provision of medication administration for prescribed medication.
  • Provide personal care when necessary, including support and supervision in personal hygiene, eating, communication, mobility, toileting, and dressing.
  • Provide Crisis Prevention and Intervention as needed and when approved.
  • As assigned, assist in the general referral, admission, and transition of individuals into and within the organization.
  • As assigned, check and record the medical needs of assigned individuals–medication administration and any self-medication programs. Assist in the periodic review and update of individual files.
  • Assure that proper procedures are followed in regard to each individual and their inherent rights.
  • Maintain data, documents, records, and materials related to assigned individuals and their treatment plans. Assist in monitoring goal progression. Identify and document when interventions are needed for specific goals due to lack of progression.
  • Involve individuals in whatever capacity possible in community events and activities.
  • Assist as needed with ambulation and/or transfer of individuals with mobility impairments.
  • Provide transportation to individuals as required or assigned.
  • Complete all required documentation related to funding, employment, or general operations, including but not limited to the following: Time reporting, Service delivery, Skill development, Behavioral data sheets, Unusual and major unusual incident reporting, and other incident reports as needed.
  • Seek, receive, and apply feedback appropriately and professionally, and work towards goals developed with supervisors.
  • Communicate by both hearing and speaking in a professional manner with the individual, team members, outside professionals, and parents/guardians, and use professional language when interacting and when describing the individual and/or behaviors.
  • Responsible for reading and following the employee handbook and all Boundless policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for completing and following all training assigned.
  • Meet required productivity requirements as established by leadership.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record (five points or fewer).
  • Within 60 days of hire, successful completion of the required training(s) and certification(s) applicable to the assigned program.

Preferred Education/Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS).
  • Three years experience working with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Required Licensure/Certification

  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, and CPR - adult, child, and infant. (Training will be provided, if not already certified).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Ukeru and medication administration certification (Training will be provided).
