Demand for original content across our platforms has never been higher, and we need to add a Life Science Chief Editor who will be responsible for networking and interacting with executives and thought leaders at biopharma companies.  The Editor will also create content in all its forms – written, audio, and video – to be shared with the audiences of Life Science Connect.

The primary role of the Chief Editor for Clinical Leader is to attract, engage, and retain the attention of clinical trial professionals that comprise the target audience of the product. The chief editor will accomplish this goal by leveraging the Clinical Leader brand and effectively communicating with this target audience through all relevant media channels and means of engagement


Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop, grow, and leverage professional network to inform ongoing Clinical Leader direction with regard to aligning our content media channels with the needs of our target audience.
  • Use communications and engagement with clinical trial professionals in the editor’s network to compile and update theme/topic list to fuel all forms of content creation for Clinical Leader.
  • Create unique and compelling content – at required quality and volume – across relevant media channels that is designed to attract, engage, and retain the attention of clinical trial professionals in the life sciences industry.
  • Host and participate in execution of CRO Leadership Awards program, which includes both publication creation and onsite awards ceremony.
  • Develop and promote new content formats and products (i.e. beyond written content for Clinical Leader) designed to reach a larger audience than we are reaching with current product mix.
  • Leverage all relevant forms of social media (with special emphasis on LinkedIn) to engage target clinical trial professionals and grow the Clinical Leader brand.
  • Attend and participate in relevant industry events with the goal of creating compelling content and extending the Chief Editor and Clinical Leader brand through effective networking.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow an Editorial Advisory board for Clinical Leader that can provide guidance for the product and serve as a source of content.
  • Become a well-known personality and resource with target audience of Clinical Leader.


Position Requirements

Required Education:

  • BS/BA Degree

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills – especially a strong writer with a portfolio of work and examples.
  • Ability to work on a deadline and, specifically, create content on a deadline.
  • Can identify and cultivate ideas of content into actual stories for publication and posting.
  • Extensive experience working in the clinical trials space in either an editorial or marketing capacity. (Specific clinical trials experience is preferable, but overall Life Sciences experience would be required.)
  • Demonstrably deep network of contacts of clinical trials professionals, which can be easily accessed and leveraged.
  • Comfortable in speaking to executives at the high levels of Life Sciences industry.
  • Ability to communicate – and create content – using all relevant formats (e.g. online, offline, audio, video, in-person).
